At Saturday's "brocante", I found this amazing dress dating back to the 1920's - my favorite era for fashion, with its sleek designs made for movement and clean lines. Despite its age, the dress is in good condition, requiring only a few stitches.
It's made of black silk, with simple short tulle sleeves.
The bias cut, so typical of the Twenties, allows it to move gracefully around the body, and its detailing is exquisite - witness the V that the seams around around the left hip (see picture).
And it only cost €30 ($45)!

beautiful dress mary-laure! did you try it on at the brocante or did you know it would fit? i wish i had time to go brocanteering with you, it would be so much fun. I furnished a whole apartment from brocanteering last year, and i will be shooting an apartment there soon that did the same, it is so beautiful!

Pia - I was pretty sure it would fit, but I still slipped it over my t-shirt and jeans (I had chosen an outfit that would make it easy for me to try on clothes!!).
Next time you're in Paris and you have a little time, we must go to a brocante together - or at least meet up over a cup of tea!

you asked me about the chanel black satin, if I find it diff to remove. To be honest no I dont! Well of course it not so easy like removing a lighter colour, but it is ok! I find red ones much more diff!
