Let there be stripes! (4)

Last week's post about children's books got me thinking of the classics I loved as a kid, and among those is Astrid Lindgren's Pippi Longstocking.
As a tribute to the wonderful and zany Pippi, I wore thigh-high yellow, gray and black socks, with my Pedro Garcia Oxfords for a little more class and a wool mini-dress by master couturier Roland Mouret, one of my favorite designers, for Gap.
Amusingly, Yasu completed a fabulous Children's Book Week on her blog with a post about Pippi, featuring beautiful illustrations.

And apparently I'm not the only one who's into stripes: this little Scandinavian beauty, whom I met at the Swedish Institute last week, had a lot of style for a 1-year-old, and pretty much wore stripes from head to toe!

I love stripes. And dots. I think they are so sweet, but can be very modern, too. And such a really classic "pattern". Stripes will never go out of style or look dated

Yasu, what a coincidence! I added a link to your blog in my post.

Marie - Ah, yes, Pippi's freckles and braids are adorable! A friend of mine dressed as Pippi for Halloween once when she was a kid, with some metallic wire in her braids to make them stick out horizontally just like Pippi's!

Eclectic - that's exactly one of the reasons why I love stripes! They always look fresh and modern.

Etsi - I'd love to see pics of your children in their stripes, I am sure they are super super super cute!

Mum - thanks for reading me that story and many more, too. You can be credited for making me love books and stories.

Pippi, another strong gal - one with confidence! I just laid all my stripes to do a post with them, when ever I wear stripes, I feel like making pancakes! Stripes make me happy!
