MacBooks for Obama
Kids for Obama
Pooches for Obama
Over the past few days, I spent some time volunteering with Barack Obama's campaign in Santa Monica, where the 3 top pictures were shot...
And at last, it's election day! I already voted (in Massachusetts), with Benjy barking for Obama, naturally.
Update: he won! After some last calls from the campaign's Santa Monica venue, I followed the results on TV with other volunteers. Incidentally, I found John McCain's concession speech not only gracious but also genuinely moving...

If only Benjy's vote could count too...
This is Norman's and my first election. So exciting! Can't wait to hear the results tonite.
Tyler and Sydney are the local organizers for "Bunns for Obama".......Hoping, hoping, hoping for hope....
i agree; mccain's speech was extremely gracious.
The champagne has been flowing (tears of joy also) freely here...
Obama's impressive victory says so much about America in 2008.
Last night voters decided that they didn't want to look back; they wanted to step into the future...
Bravo and thank you..!
Bravo! You arrived in Santa Monica only a few days ago and have accomplished so much already!

xxnancy
My heart is so full today!!! It's a happy day. A new beginning.
What a glorious day!
i'm so filled with joy today !!!
I want to thank you for your mention of John McCain's speech - I too think he was most gracious and sincere.
Thanks for your visit to my Watery Wednesday post today.
It was such a momentous moment, to be in a crowd of hundreds of people when the announcement came. I truly could feel the transformation sweep through the room.
As for McCain's speech, I agree with you. That is the John McCain I remember seeing eight years ago, and I remember the McCain that was a frequent and welcome visitor on the Daily Show. I felt like he was finally allowed to be himself last night and I think we were genuinely touched by his speech.
I agree, even though I voted for Obama, I thought that John McCain showed what a classy guy he was in last night's speech.
BFLAT - I didn't vote but I did sport an Obama button on my harness, so I feel like I've done my duty! Dogs are very happy Obama will be getting a puppy for his adorable little girls; a puppy in the White House, woof!
he did and it was (McCain's speech)...xo
i am without words in the most wonderful way...
I'm quite the moderate (all over on the issues... ) and I was truly happy with both candidates last night. What an awesome time to be an american! :)
Though that Image of Obama is made by Shephard Fairey.
Congratulations on the election!
HERE, THERE... - it's very American, isn't it, going for the future rather than looking back...
TANGOBABY - I agree, I think it was the first time during the "campaign" that he was himself. Too bad it took him so long. I think his team of advisers stole his campaign from him, such a pity.
ALEXANDRA - thanks for letting me know who the Warholian artist who made this image is, I didn't know!
Amazing historic victory!

I am so very proud that you took part in the Obama campaign, even moreso when I consider that you're probably still feeling the effects of jet lag!
:)
Candace
