Above: the movie I'm eagerly waiting for.
Below: the movie I saw and loved yesterday.
Like the New York Times's reviewer, I found parallels between Coco Before Chanel and Bright Star - maybe their unhurried lyricism, their sensuous focus on sensations such as the touch of a fabric, and a divine photography.
Sassy, quick-witted and independent, the young Gabrielle is the kind of woman I want to be.
Her taste for strict lines and a severe style blending masculine and feminine elements made me want to go back to some items in my closet such as the old, white linen man's shirt I bought at a flea market in France and wear as a dress.

Glad you enjoyed the movie, my brother saw it several times, he adores anything Chanel, he has loved it since he was 14 or so... and would do anything to work there.
I am so curious about 'where the wild things are', it's not out here, not yet, am really looking forward.
have a great sunday!
La camisa me chifla, no se por qué en los últimos meses sólo visto de blanco.
No he visto todavía el film de Coco, voy a esperar a que salga en DVD.Gracias por la recomendación.
SOLANGE - I hope you get to see the movie too, it's really moving and beautiful.
You know, I actually work for Chanel as a translator! But it's their Cosmetics branch.
MARCI - ah si, como me gusta el blanco a mi tambien.
Cuando veas la pelicula, dime que te parece.

I'm so looking forward to that Audrey Tatou Chanel movie!! I've seen the trailers for it and it looks divine!! Where the wild things are looks pretty out there - that should be good too! I hope you and Benji are having a good weekend so far!
SAM and SAMMI - the movie came out on Friday in Los Angeles and New York but I don't know when/if it will be released elsewhere. I do hope it reaches Australia, or wherever you are...
Dos peliculas que aun no veo!! me diste muchas ganas de ir ya ya al cine! Un abrazo Mary Laure!
The shirt looks very much like a artist painter gown. I like the pleats in front.
Oooooooh! Chanel!!!
I dream of owning some Chanel! And not just makeup or an accessory, a bona fide garment, or a very very nice collar.
I took my kids to the movies over the weekend and we saw the preview of Where the Wild Things Are. We can't wait for it to come out!
As for the Chanel movie, hubby and I are planning to watch it next.

RINA - si vas al cine, contame lo que fuiste a ver.
LAURA - the pleats are my favorite part too!
TAOCITO - oh I can picture your little owner in a chic Chanel suit that would match your "bouclé" hair.
ANGIE - I hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think when you see it.
IF JANE - I don't know when it's coming out in Canada - soon, hopefully.
I can't wait for WTWTA either! I saw Coco in Australia back in July and totally loved it! Love the white shirt as a dress idea...
Yes I loved her in that film! I did feel that the narrative itself wasn't as in depth as i would have liked, but i enjoyed it anyway! (i'm also looking forward to seeing where the wild things are too!)
oh the posters are up here...i just have to find time to go see it...;))
(oh but it is not getting the best reviews...)
IF JANE - well, I tend to beware a bit of reviewers... They're often blasé, don't you agree?
I'm dying to see this film! Been hearing about it for so long now that it's hard to believe it's just barely being released here.
Also, great dress/shirt! :)
Thanks for the review, I cannot wait to see Coco and Bright Star. The costumes...oh yes...even the previews were inspiring!
Love the linen shirt :)
GABBI - go and see it and then do let me know what your impressions and ideas are. I'd really love to hear what you thought.
JANIS - I hope you'll enjoy both movies as much as I did.
I am SO EXCITED about Where the Wild Things Are!
HADLEY - I can't ever remember I film being so widely and enthusiastically anticipated...
I can't wait to discover Sendak's adaptation!
Oh, I am dying to see both Coco and Bright Star! My boyfriend is actually willing to see the latter because of who the director is--yay for win-win situations!
