A Whale And Flowers

Meet my new little friend, a cheerful whale. The best part: it's handmade in the USA by an amazing craftsman who sells toys through his Etsy boutique, US Wood Toys. And it's ridiculously cheap ($12). I am dying to buy his hippo, too. If you want to treat some little ones for X-mas, you know where to go.
Another adornment at home this week - these happy yellow flowers, brightening up wintery days; we're experiencing record breaking cold in the Los Angeles area. Brrrrr...

I love wooden toys, they are toys that you will keep forever, they only acquire charm with age...

the price is incredible, here locally made wooden toys are so expensive!

Cover up well and keep warm

So cute! And so fun that I spotted Venetian Hours on your book shelf. Here in Copenhagen it is cold too, and it snows, snows, snows....

Love wooden toys...very cute. And flowers, of course. Cheerful yellows are always helpful. I have to see how cold it is in LA...GG is shivering underneath a big red felt cape (not around her shoulders, it's on a chair:)...so I think this is a hint to turn on the heat. Hmmm.

Big hugs to Benjy.

CARINA - yes, I thought you might see it! It's a great book, thanks for the recommendation.

SUSAN - Benjy doesn't seem to be cold. I always wonder if I should wrap him in cashmere and baby alpaca when we go out in the cold. Any input?

Wooden toys, what a joy and the splash of colour with the flowers. Nice to see you're keeping cheerful with the falling temperatures. It was so cold here in Britain yesterday and we had to put hot water bottles under the cats' pillows to keep them warm. 8 cm of snow too. Brrr.

Aha! I have just the spot for her or him (were they mine).

Little beats the charm of a wooden toy, I agree.

Back with "I don't know" about Benjy's sartorial needs on walk. Maybe he wants to show what a cool (not cold:) guy he is, you know, walking around w/out "kid" stuff on. He can snuggle at home w/out being teased by big dogs. I don't know if this is an issue in the dog world, but one never knows.

I saw Vanessa's comment about the kitties & hot water bottles. There's a cute photo on her post today w/a kitty looking very happy. GG is sacked out right now, like a boiled noodle. Right next to a space heater called The Dragon. It's her favorite thing...I'm chopped liver when that thing is on in the other room.

Cheers from freezing cold DC. xo

I had to come right back to say: guess what? Patrick's studio is right here near Giulia's apt. I had no idea. Just popped in to favorite & saw a dragon.

Que hermosa! me encantó! y muy buena idea para regalar! un abrazo!

GIULIA - what a coincidence! The Gattina should definitely visit Patrick's studio to meet his own beasts; who knows, he may even be inspired to create a toy modeled after Giulietta?
