To Amsterdam!

On Friday morning, Benjy and I headed to the Gare du Nord and boarded the Thalys, the fast train that goes to Belgium and the Netherlands. There we met up with my sister, who just moved to the Dutch capital to work.
I love the city's canals, narrow brick houses in all shades of red, the omnipresent flowers and of course, the sumptuous cheese!
In the days to come, Benjy and I will share some snapshots from Amsterdam: wonderfully designed posters, styles spied on local girls and more - stay tuned...

I love that you can take dogs on public transport in Europe, it's so civilized!

BTW - great blog

Mary-Laure said...

IMELDA - yes, dogs are pretty much welcome everywhere in Europe... Not only that but a couple of subway employees actually approached me to tell me they thought my dog was "very beautiful"!!

I get shoo'd off public transport if I have my tiny chien :( I love flying around Europe and watching passengers take there pets. I Australia you have to book them as baggage and they travel in the cargo hold...I'm sure you'll agree, not cool!

Mary-Laure said...

IMELDA - in all fairness, pets also travel in cargo in airplanes in Europe, if they are heavier than 5 kilos (about 10 pounds).
But Benjy's small enough to be considered cabin luggage!
