Bowler Hat

Lock & Co. of St James street in London makes the best and most beautiful bowler hats in the world. They are super expensive, but I got this one on eBay; it's a glorious addition to my hat collection! It protects my hair from the rain, as Paris has already shifted into Autumn mode...

This week end I'm attending a very dear friend's wedding in the exquisite Loire Valley - make sure to check back in on Sunday or Monday for pictures of this French-Iranian-German party!

FIFI - I didn't know you liked hats... why don't you feature yours on your blog?
Actually, I miss California A LOT and long for a little warm weather...

P - not sure what I'm going to wear yet, it will depend on the weather. I'm thinking of my Lanvin tuxedo pants. Stay tuned!

hi there, you look very nice with that hat and it's great that you could find one on ebay.
I just came back from a week in paris, I had a wedding near versailles, so I enjoyed a little escape to M.Antoinette's hameau, like always it was beautiful.
enjoy your weekend!!

I like your hats a lot; I like the fact that you wear them (I'm not that brave); I like your busy trips, your exotic stories...
:)

The hat looks great on you, Marie-Laure! The oft-conservative Parisians will nod in approval.

I like the idea of your Lanvin tuxedo pants to the wedding.

Nice hat, you can really pull it off!

KAREN - how lovely you got to visit the Loire Valley! It's really worth it, isn't it.

RICHEL and ETSI - the secret to pulling the look off is, JUST DARE and keep the rest of your outfit very simple.

MISS GLITZY - you can find one on ebay.co.uk more than on the other eBay sites.

ANONYMOUS - (Charlotte, I'm sure it's you!) the point of the bowler hat is that you can wear it in the rain; it's BRITISH, remember?

SOLANGE - I hope you posted pics of the wedding on your blog? I'll check...

Ah, very nice bowler hat indeed. Cheers, lj

That may well be, but may I suggest that modern rain is full of icky toxic gunk, & that unless you want your very own Wicked Witch of the East moment ("I'm melting! I'm melting!"), you'll avoid exposing The Precious to the elements?

ANONYMOUS - Charlotte, may I suggest you get your own?

Ah, but you see, not having a simply GINORMOUS hatband size like some people, but a petite, feminine one, I must live vicariously through people who do...

ah, "chapeau melon et bottes de cuir", j'etais fan.

Adorable! The cache alone of that hat makes it wonderful!

Just love the Bowler hat! It's fabulous!!

OK...this is great timing. I promised myself that this fall I would get some sort of hat: a fedora, anything. I now will add a bowler to my potential list.

I love a bowler - they remind me of the Unbearable Lightness of Being.

It looks like you found the perfect one.

Only a chosen few can pull off a bowler hat and you're one of them!

MARY - go for the bowler hat and let me know if you post a pic on your blog...

C. - oh come on, just dare!
