Patterns At Lafitte

Last summer, I took you with me to Lafitte, a mansion/castle in the South West of France where I spend a few weeks every year. This year, we are going to step into the rooms again, as I wanted to share with you some of the beautiful patterns that brighten up many of the rooms... Come in!
From top:
1. the cotton sheets in my room
2. the wallpaper in the stairs
3. bedspread in the master bedroom
4. a comfy chair in the main living room

DEBRA - and there's more to come!

J ELAINE - oh he always loves a comfy chair! And he's digging like crazy atop the bedspreads.

IF JANE - you are just too adorable, always.

I love this little glimpse into your french sojourn. For some reason I can't help but think of The Mysteries of Udolpho when I think of a house in the French countryside. Maybe because there's something so old world and antique about these exquisite patterns--they probably are antiques! You are staying in a castle, after all.

More pics, please. :-)

I would like to ask the Oracle how he likes the French countryside and how he finds life in a chateau?

JOANNA - there will be more pics in the days to come!
I've been wanting to read The Mysteries of Udolpho since I read Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey.

J ELAINE - Hi my doll! I'm having a wonderful time here at Laiftte. All I do is fetch the ball, sniff intensively, get in trouble with the neighbor's cat and play with the kids - except for one kid whom I met again today and whose limbs I wanted to bite into.
I can't wait to see you! Woof!

Oh the age old rivalry between cat and dog. Hey, maybe Jean-Robert was a cat in a former life or maybe a rival ex-con?!

J ELAINE - I like your idea, doll. That kid gives out a bad vibe. I'm pretty sure I heard him Meow at me some time ago...

I'm a bit of a pattern-free zone. You might just be stirring me to do something about that...

Mary-Laure said...

RACHEL - be bold! It really livens up a room...
