Short & Sharp

I've always liked short hair and find endless inspiration in women such as writer Colette, actress Louise Brooks and many more. Also, as an amateur ballerina, I like anything that clears my neck and keeps my head light and sleek.

Candi, at Paper Scissors Rock in Venice, is in charge of my style. The doll pictured below is just one of the many crazy items that adorn the mirrors and walls at this hip and fun salon.

Dammit..that's exactly the haircut I keep trying to convince the people at the salons to give me...still haven't managed to convince them yet! lol

Such a cute haircut, and really suits you! :D

Your hair cut is brilliant, it looks just gorgeous!
I'm a short hair girl as well, even though I find myself longing for longer locks regularly, but never manage to grow the hair after all. At the end I always come to the conclusion that the short version is the most flattering.

It looks fantastic! You look fantastic! Courageous and edgy, very beautiful!

MURALIMANOHAR - ah yes, it takes a while to find the right salon, where a stylist will listen to you and make you a happy girl.

MERULLI - truth be told, I too sometimes wish I had long hair again, to wear ponytails and ballerina chignons. But in the end I like it so much more when it's short!

Great hair-cut. I've had shortish hair for a while and have really enjoyed every phase of the 'growing out'. It will always be on the shorter side. Love yours.

What a beautiful hair style!! I always have short hair and am thinking of going to have my hair cut this evening... I'll see...

I'm a fan of short hair, maybe because my hair "grows short." Yours is sassy, sexy, and cool!

Mary-Laure said...

DEBRA - ah yes, growing your hair out can be awkward I think but it does allow you to try all kinds of lengths.

NATSUMI - do post a pic of you with your new cut on on your blog!

DEIDRA - thanks, you're making me blush...

Chic cut! Do you wear a hairband when dancing?

LOVE! Your hair looks stunning! ...and you totally carry it off - it's you! It's so terrific when you get a snazzy new do, ien't it?

Winnie said...

The haircut looks fantastic on you! I have had short hair before but not as short as yours! I think I suit longer hair more!

Mary-Laure said...

MISS CAVENDISH - yes, I sometimes wear a wide black headband, very cute, or else I just use bobby pins to keep my hair out of my face.

SAM - yes, a good haircut just boosts your self confidence.
Thanks for your compliments, they go straight to my heart as you're so very tasteful.

Long or short...it's always such a hair dilemma - especially when I see such great styles like this!

Thanks for stopping by my blog because now I've found yours and it is so lovely!

Your blog reminds me a little of mine, except we're on opposite coasts.
Love the haircut.
Love that you dabble in ballet.
Love little Arthur.
Love the little sausage dog.
California sky, definitely color.
Mexican cola? hmmmm.
Can't remember everything else, but I liked what I saw.
Thanks for your sweet comment. I left you a dessert recommendation for Paris. xo

I am so tired from work, I didn't realize until after I commented that you actually live in France. That makes my dessert suggestion really dumb, and I'm sure I spelled it wrong too. Check my response if you want to have a really good laugh at my expense. xo

Mary-Laure said...

MASUETUDE - but would a ring fit on his little paws?

DIANE - thanks for your adorable comment. I DO live in Los Angeles actually, but used to live in Paris, a city I'll be visiting again in a couple of days. So I'll definitely check out your dessert recommendation!
I hope we stay in touch via our blogs.

I love it -- I had my hair cut short last winter and it was not nearly as chic! Bon voyage a Paris.

It looks so wonderful! I love short hair too but am having a difficult time finding the right stylist. I am sure my thick wavy hair isn't helping ;) You look gorgeous.
