Venice Skateboarding Kids

On Sunday, a walk on the beach took me to Venice's new skateboard park. Its was packed with kids, their curvy shadows following the funky shapes of the concrete park. Like many of us, I've long loved the easy stylishness of skateboarders, with their cool sneakers.

I love sliding .. but are tempted by snow or water!

Always in awe of kids on skateboards, it seems so scary to me with my bad hand eye coordination and they seem to effortlessly defy gravity!

Also, like always, such wonderful photographs!

Yay! Is Benjy an avid skateboarder? I can imagine with such grace and balance and overall dexterity, he must be the king of the park!

I am the most uncoordinated person alive. My kids though are something altogether different. I have no idea where they get their gracefulness from. It sure isn't from me.

GABBI - yes, I don't know HOW they do it. Looks magical.

TAOCITO - you know they DO have a "skateboarding dog" festival here in LA... Only in Crazy LA!

It amazes me how a tiny board and wheels can be so entertaining. Have a golden weekend! xo

SOLANGE - I don't think I ever did!

JOYCE - the simplest things are best, don't you agree?...

A skateboarding dog festival? Even in L.A. this seems, well, frivolous. I should like to attend.

ciao-meow to Benjy & Tacocito...
