Fashion Buys

It's been pouring in Southern California so I've been wearing a Banana Republic peacoat I bought last month during another stormy spell. I love this coat's elegant detailing.
I wear it with the striped cap I bought from my dear Artycho.

But the major fashion thrill in the Los Angeles area right now is Barneys New York's humongous warehouse sale (details here). I bought a very simple James Perse black skirt I'll wear as soon as it stops raining.
It's made of Tencel®, a new, natural eco-friendly fabric that's super soft. And I bravely resisted a divine Yamamoto skirt - way marked down, but still a plump $400.

The thrill of a good sale or a lucky bargain others may have overlooked is hard to beat...

NICE deal. Love the look of the details I can see. And LOVE Tencel. Though, not THAT new...one of my favorite pants ever, I bought 15 years ago, made from it. LOVE the stuff. :p

Oh! I love great sales like that and I am a big fan of James Perse clothes. Lucky you!

I was a HUGE fan of Barneys in NY and especially the warehouse sale! Remember my Ann Demeulmeester black leather courier bag? Warehouse sale find!

In my opinion, James Perse makes the best T-shirts. The ones I have from over five years ago are still my favorites. Le Bon Marché has finally started to carry them in Paris, but the price here is ridiculous!

Think again about the Yamamoto skirt...

Sigh

No Barneys here.

I do love a good sale though.

Stylish AND a bargain - great combination always!

I resisted the temptation to visit the sale this year, because I really am trying to stick to my spending hiatus and I knew it wouldn't stick. Especially with tops like that available.

MURALIMANOHAR - wow, I had not idea Tencel had been around for so long! It was my first time seeing it. It seems to be a really nice fabric, so soft and beautiful.

NIKELLA - I just love your picture, the little Mermaid from Copenhaguen. It's so graceful!

J ELAINE - it's good to see you again on Aurea!
I'll go back to the sale some time before it closes as they slash the prices on the last days. Maybe the skirt will be more affordable, if it's still there...

RACHEL - good girl, stick to your resolutions.

WOW, bargain James Perse. I love their basics but, truth to be told, I have never seen anything so ridiculously overpriced!

BLUE MOSS - LOL. You should have just asked them where the sale was, no?

INAKI - I so TOTALLY agree with you, their prices are just ridiculous. I mean, $80 for a plain tee-shirt? Please.

SAVAGE BLUE - did you buy anything?
