Elizabeth Grant - A Cocktail & A Giveaway
When I covered the Cannes Film Festival in 2008, I was delighted to meet April Jackson, the PR dynamo for the high end cosmetics brand Elizabeth Grant. When I met her, April told me about the history of the company and how in the 1950's England, one young woman decided that since she could not find cosmetics that suited her skin, damaged by a shrapnel during World War II, well she would create them herself - thus her company was born and it endures to this day, with splendid packaging and extraordinary ingredients like Vitamin C or their own hi-tech, trademarked Torricelumn.
A few days ago, the regal Elizabeth Grant herself was in Los Angeles with her team, including her lovely and enthusiastic granddaughter Margot Grant as well as April Jackson, in order to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the WIFT. I was delighted to attend the cocktail and the awards ceremony - at the top of the Andaz Hyatt Hotel, on LA's Sunset Boulevard. I was spoiled (spoiled!) with some goodies, including day and night skin serums and their brand new The Socializer, or 2 pens, each filled with extraordinary treatment creams that regenerate, revive, and hydrate the eye area- Bright Lights for the morning and Late Nights for the evening.
And to thank you for being such wonderful and loyal readers, I am launching my second Elizabeth Grant Giveaway. One lucky person out there will win a golden Elizabeth Grant pouch, filled with luxurious products. Just leave a comment by Friday, and one winner will be chosen at random.
Update: we have a winner! It's lucky Beth.

I'd love to be the winner!!!!
Oooh la la!! What a terrific giveaway! Fingers, toes and legs crossed!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I'm a big Elizabeth 8 hour cream fan and would love to be entered.
Fabulous give away !
"regenerate, revive, and hydrate"
YES PLEASE! This poor tired teacher needs that so badly at this time of the year!!!
What a great giveaway!
I checked out the Elizabeth Grant web site – I’m intrigued. As someone with extremely sensitive skin, I’m always on the lookout for skin care products that use natural ingredients.
And aren’t you a generous person with this give-a-way – I’m assuming you’re keeping some of these wonderful goodies for yourself!
You are so good to us! Sharing your cocktail party glory with us little peeps! I love trying new beauty products!
What a story! I love it when women go out and research what they need and go for it. And how nice for you to attend such a fabulous event. The weather in Maine is.... somewhat harsh on skin-please add my name to the pot.
Oh I love Elizabeth Grant. Doesn't she look amazing for her age? I've only seen her on the telly but she looks great.
SAM - LOL, I can imagine you all twisted...
BETH - I'm keeping a couple of things, yes, just the body lotion and its "partner" body scrub with Vitamin C. You know that I am always looking for the perfect body lotion!
DEBRA - yes, I really admire that entrepreneurial quality. And to do that in the 1950's, when not many women were creating their own companies.
JOYFUL - yes, I was delighted to meet her and I must say her skin is flawless; she radiates energy and good vibes, too.
Oh count me in!! ;)) I loved your posts from Cannes...that is why and how I found your blog! ;)) xx
What a lovely, lovely give-away! I would love to try Elizabeth Grant products!
Please do count me in. I'd love to give these products a go :)
yay! thanks for such a fab giveaway! xoxo
You are too cute! I'm delighted to have caught your blog today. You make so many smile and I love you. That's not buttering you up. I truly love you and Benjy!
Wow, M-L. I have been out of it...I did not recall Elizabeth Grant until I read this post. Back to the site, now. (& then to Cannes...I did not see those, I don't think).
Cheers from cold soon-to-be-rainy (icy?) DC!

IF JANE - yes, "meeting" you was one of the best things about Cannes...
ADRIENNE - fortunately for Benjy, he's a natural beauty who does not need cosmetics!
GIULIA - no, you haven't been "out of it", it's just that you weren't following my adventures back in 2008, when I went to Cannes for the 3rd time.
Sounds yummy :-).
Oh wow, this is such a cute giveaway!!!

Oh my goodness, what a lucky day! I would love to win. :) Thanks for visiting my blog over at Permission to Unwind, as well.
If you ever decide to take up knitting (it's a wonderful hobby!) leg-warmers are quite easy to knit. You may just knit them up for your ballet class someday, after all!
MARIE-JOLIE - no really, I'm so clumsy, you have no idea... I'd end up punching myself in the eye with a needle.
Wow, that is a most sumptuous giveaway. I am in awe. I hope you are doing well and enjoying the 'Christmas month'. December is one of my favorite times of year. Cheers.
I love the fact that there is such a meaningful story behind this brand. And how sweet of you to do a giveaway! Merci lovely lady.
oh and P.S.
about your comment on my blog regarding the singer in the video: her name is Sarah Blasko and she's quite a well-known singer here in Australia. You should check out her music as I think it's very unique and she has such a distinctive voice.
M.L. you are quite the enigma. Sister in Amsterdam, father in Paris, Mum in Istanbul where I long to go and you covering Cannes? I'm living vicariously through you.
HILA - yes, I too love the story behind that brand, and that is why I have featured it twice on my blog. I have been contacted in the past by several brands, including one of the world's most important running shoe manufacturers, but I will only feature on my blog brands that I believe in and am attracted to.
DONNA - Mum just got back from Istanbul; it was her second time in that city and she had a great time; she may post about it on her own blog:

I have heard great things about this brand but never gotten the chance to use it. Maybe I will win??? Thanks for sharing with us!
Wow! I want to be a winner :-) Thank you for the notice!
Amazing stuff! Count me in :D

Ooh, what an awesome giveaway! Enter me, please! :)
Que hermoso .. lastima, no participo pues aca se lo roban en el correo! Tu blog es precioso! Te felicito.
Shame on me, I had never heard about Elizabeth Grant before ! But I love the story… This is a very generous idea from you !
Pick me! Pick me!
Think about it, who better than me deserves this giveaway and here is why:
as a loyal pooch and sometime Aurea contributor I enjoy being known for being witty and dashingly fluffy. However those qualities do not reward me much financially. Yet, as Christmas approaches I would very much like to thank my owner for all the love and care bestowed upon me during my almost eight years of life, and being so low on cash I can't afford to buy her a nice gift. So If I were to get that giveaway I would be able to thank her profusely.
Me, me, me! Okay, I will calm down a bit. How about me? That thing is made for me!
TAOCITO - don't worry, as a loyal AUREA contributor, I have set aside a little something for your assistant. I suggest you also make some kind of "paw-made" item, too.
How is it that you're low on cash? Have you been sneaking out for secret "festins"?
Thank you for visiting my little blog and letting me in on your secret luxurious giveaway! Do please sign me up. :) Have a very lovely rest of the week. xx
*soupir* i have bad luck, but hey, i'll try anyways. pick me! <3
(and your blog is lovely by the way :) )
Well unlike the Oracle who can earn his own wage by modeling or reproducing heirs to his divine appearance, I do not currently have a source of income. I thought about selling my fur for sweaters but nay. I then thought of launching my own line of keyboards specially designed to be used with paws but that requires an investment. Tough....
Laura in Paris' told me to stop by ;)
I don't wear any makeup for I cannot find a product that does not irritate my skin, especially around my eyes. Do they make such a thing?
DI - well, there is no eye makeup in this giveaway, but I know that the brand does make serums and healing/rejuvenating eye pads that are especially formulated for sensitive skins.
Last time I was given eye pads, I gave them to a friend who was dying to try them and she found them just amazing, very soothing.
Here is a place where you'll find all the info about their eye products:

However if it's really your EYES that get irritated, as opposed to the SKIN around your eyes, I would give an ophthalmologist a call before using any kind of product.
These sound fantastic!!
