Benjy...you cannot hide. You must get up & finish your Christmas shopping! (from GG who is nodding off while looking at the snow fall in Washington, DC)...
he is just too much! the oracle does need his sleep I guess for all that he does during the day. What a cutie. This cloudy day calls for a little extra pillow time non?
SAM - well there's all those ball games, you know. Since he's a one-"man" team, he spends as much energy as a full team of soccer players would on the field.
Tu me manques beaucoup.
ML - my two winkies sleep withme down under the covers too. I think all dachsunds must. Emmysleeps in the crook of my legs and Sister farther down by my feet. Sister also does something funny. Whenever she can or wears me down, she leaps down my shirt and curls up. She tries it with my son and son-in-law but they won't let her. She also gets upset if she hears the word No. We have to spell around her.
DONNA - you know, I never met a dachshund you didn't want to sleep under the covers towards the foot of the bed. How Benjy breathes down there is anyone's guess! It cracked me up that you have to spell NO around her. She'll catch on soon enough. Those creatures are smart.
Benjy, Benjy, Benjy. You must get up some time. (Don't you?) It's only 6.20pm in LA. Giulia is playing with the strings of fairy lights (they're off).
Susan
PS: M-L...there's a hilarious dachsund nativity set on etsy. There's a link to a blog that posted it (does that make sense?)under the Dachsie Dress post (inspired by this l'il devil of yours)...
ML, I forgot to inquire what or why all your family members are around the world. I would so love to go the Istunbul or just about anywhere, well, except Afghanistan (looks like a horrid place) or Antartica (I can't enjoy anywhere that's cold like that.) Other than that, I'm game. Do any countries let you take dogs along without quarantines?
GIULIA - oh yes I will be happy to get up to play ball. Or to go out. Or to have a treat. Now let me nap a little longer. I need to check out the nativity set featuring my dachshund cousins. I always thought we dacshshunds had some kind of divine quality.
DONNA - Well, my parents (American mum and French father) normally live in Paris but my mum just went to spend a few days in Istanbul to visit a nephew, and she's back in Paris by now (Monday). As for my sister, she has been living in Amsterdam for a couple of years BUT she will be moving to Dubai at the end of the month - for work. And if you want to know, my grandmother lives in Uruguay, where she is from. We are a nomadic family...
MANSUETUDE - well, I have to say that I am often praised for my Beauty, but it seldom has to do with my legs, which some people find amusingly short. But it's true that my milk chocolate color ankle "socks" are as soft as they are lovely! And my deep black nails are hard and shiny as diamonds.
JULIA - yes, it is a dachshund indeed, the famed Benjy with his short legs, floppy ears and looooong body with a looooooooong nose. You're lucky to have 3 such dogs and I hope they are featured on your blog - I'm off to check it out now.

Reminds me of how and where my sister's precious dog Chloe sleeps/takes a nap!
GIULIA - thanks Giulia but my amanuensis will do the shopping for me. I am too busy meditating, plotting my next mischief or my next book...
SEALAURA - I need my beauty sleep, don't I?
Oui, I could use a little extra nap today. Yaaaaaaaawn.
IF JANE - ah, you know me so well. I can never say no to a belly rub. I will even demand an Encore.
Words fail me! "Relaxed" doesn't describe it! What on earth has he been doing? A 24/7 non stop Christmas shop-a-thon? Utterly cute! :)

Oh, I want to crawl right under those covers too! Benjy, now move on over and make some room. Sweet sleep. Ah...

Holy crap, is that a dachshund? I'm the (probably insane) owner of three short-legged burrowing nappers, myself. So cute!
