ALESSANDRA - the farmers' markets here in California are really magical! The produce is super fresh, and you can also get things like local honey, dried fruit, nuts, mushrooms, flowers etc. A lot of things are organic and everything is grown in the immediate area. The ones I go to are in Venice or in Santa Monica and it's always a treat for the eyes and the palate.
DONNA - oh yes, I know a couple of places here in LA where I can find some good bread, but I have to admit that the one thing about Paris that I really miss is the bread...
Lovely clean fridge, Mary-Laure. I'm feeling that I should draw heaps of soapy hot water & get to it. Alas, I'm busy cooking so will wait. Love fruit, of course. I'm looking right now at 2 pears & an apple - not soon for this desk. They shall be in a gratin dish soon.
Now to the important part, really. Giulia wants to know where is the cat food for any drop in visitors. (She is the most frightfully forward girl. Can't do a thing with her.)
Seeing this photo, post Farmers' Market, I am reminded of all the summer goodness that lies ahead for me. Peaches! Apricots! All those marvellous stone fruits. Bliss.
POOCH - yes, my parents taught me that you should always have a bottle of champagne in the fridge because you never know when you'll have something to celebrate. And sometimes, what you want to celebrate is just the joy of being together!
RSA Course - ha ha ha! Yes, I know, many people always have a "Before" fridge. I got in the habit of going to the farmers' market once a week, but it's also because I'm lucky to have great markets nearby...

I'd love to taste a fresh avocado and I hope you have some delicious artisanal bread for that jam.
Will you share the avocados?

What's behind the pomegranate juice? Very curious.
