At The Nail Salon

Pedicures are one of my indulgences. As I got one on Saturday (on Montana avenue in Santa Monica), I glanced with fascination at the woman next to me, who was having "French manicure" plastic nails applied to her finger tips - all while another lady did her feet and yet another one massaged her neck and shoulders, and she coolly did a crossword puzzle.

I just went for smooth feet, with bright orange nail polish.

PIPER - que increible que hayamos eligido las dos el mismo color! Es precioso, no?

MUJER - it's true, because it means sandals.

TRACYJACKS - you should try it some time, it's fun. They also massage your feet and legs, mmmmmmmm....

Love the color! I get a pedicure at the beginning of summer then live in flip flops... Can´t wait!

It has been a long time since I've done a pedicure... Think I'm going to take an appointment. Love the color you chose.

A pedicure is the one luxury I haven't splurged on. I bet it's well worth it.

JANE - my pedicure too was a nod to the coming summer...

MISS GLITZY - a shoe lover like you must love pedicures indeed.

APRILINIOWA - here in LA you can get a fine pedicure for about $15, which is great!

Ugh, I can't stand those fake nails like that (the "french manicure") - I had that done once, because everyone in high school had them, and it was awful. They really ruin your fingernails, too! But a pedicure sounds fun. :)

PIPER - bueno, mañana visito tu blog para ver el color de tus uñas!

REBECCA - I'm not surprised it's bad for the nails. The smell of the products the nail technician next to me was using was just awful, so toxic.

Oh, just wanted to let you know that I linked to your blog! :)

Great choice, orange is my favorite color for the season!

Isn't it nice getting pampered?... :)

Cute toesies.

GABBI - let me know if there are any places your recommend in the LA area for pedicures and what not.

I don't think I'd like people touching my toes ...

Snazzy toes indeed! I have to make my first spring appointment! Not quite time for showing off feet- but soon! Don't you love pedicures? My favorite is a spa pedi- which takes 1 1/2 hours... The whole thing including a paraffin dip~such a treat!

Eeli said...

Oh@ I would be doing theh EXACT same thing if my feet were as cute as yours! haha As it stands TWO toenails are bruised from tramping/camping and they're so wide from running with unsupported shoes its actually quite embarrasing!

<3 the coral on you!!!!

Hope youre new week is starting out fantastically! :)

xx Eeli

My what pretty toes you have!

Mary-Laure said...

DEBRA - I've had paraffin treatments before but they kind of freak me out...

EELI - acually, my left foot also has a couple of damaged nails because of my pointe work in ballet - that's why I showed the right one!

Oh, I love being pampered at the salon! I haven't had a mani or a pedi in so long - perhaps I should indulge again.

Nice toes!

There's a new place in little Tokyo that I've been meaning to visit. Maybe we can meet up there for lunch (Japanese food?) and manicures and maybe a visit to the MOCA or the Japanese Heritage museum sometime next week? :) Let me know...xo
