The Benjy Door

Hmmmmmm, what's this little door at the foot of my bed?...

It's a Benjy Door!
It allows him to sneak into the backyard, where he can sunbathe (a major Benjy passion), sniff any good smells in the wind, play with his ball and more.
Believe it or not, I once locked myself out and got into my room through this very tiny door. Really.

Benjy's happiness is contagious. I don't have a dog, so thanks for sharing him.

Love it. Jack needs a door but not sure he would come back. He's so wild.

KWANA - I can imagine your little Jack wandering off into New York City!
To tell you the truth, Benjy's backyard area us all fenced up.

if you can fit through the same sized door as Benjy i cannot decide if that makes you :
a) very thin
b) a contortionist
c) thunbelina ?

: )

What a wonderful little hatch. I could do with one of those, although my dog would end up stood on the porch roof...

When it comes to the world of dogs, Benjy is most definitely my favorite little guy!

I love you, Benjy, and I also love your limber companion!

Apparently those little doors can come in handy! Is that one of those ones that works with a magnet and goes up when he comes near?

Mary-Laure said...

LITTLEBIRD - my secret: go in legs first.

SAMMI - maybe he'd enjoy the roof, it's closer to the sun...

FIFI - oh no, it's much more low-tech, and I'm the one in control of his comings and goings. Yes, I am his doorwoman.

me encanta que Benjy tenga una puerta (no tan secreta) para salir y hacer las cosas que mas disfruta

Mary-Laure said...

ANNIE - yes he is very loving, super tender and cuddly.

NANCY - frankly, I hope I won't have to do it again...

So much for the cat renter's "fat butt" comments, hum?
Also, post pictures of the yard, 'cos the Benji-flap ones confused me more than anything about the layout...

Mary-Laure said...

GEYSER - I will entrust Benjy with my camera and ask him to take pics of his own personal little space... Stay tuned...

That explains the SWOOSH SWOOSH background sound while we talk on Skype!

What an exciting feature to Benjy's new home!

Benjy strikes me as the independent type, someone who definitely requires an entrance of his own. Too cute! And apparently useful in the case of lockouts - bonus.

Mary-Laure said...

J ELAINE - that's the flap!

KENDALEE - yes, he's very independent. Once someone looked at him going about his business and said "The looks like he's on a mission!" and that was exactly right.

Solange said...

ha, that's so funny! I can already imagine you going through that little door :-)
I think Benji must be good company, have a good weekend!

If I were still in China I would say: Xiao Guo Men!!!

J Elaine said...

Ahem, what is 'Xiao Guo Men'? I am so curious...

Mary-Laure said...

J ELAINE - I'm not sure what Laura meant. I think she may have confused GUO and GAO, the latter meaning DOG. If that's what she meant indeed, XIAO GAO MEN would mean "small dog door". We have to check with her...

There is no sun in England, or at least that's what this country seems to be trying to prove to me so far, Mary Laure, I am looking forward to having a little balcony of my own for him to sunbathe on in Gran Canaria.

Benjy is one very lucky dog to come and go as he pleases to play, lay and chase. Hugs to you Benjy xoxo
