All with slightly different patterns/textures, but they all seem to blend color-wise.
I never buy pineapples or coconuts for the reason that they sem much too daunting to attemot cracking or cutting open
I wonder if a hammer would work on a coconut? I don't think I've bought one in years and years. I don't remember how I got it open, lol. Have fun experimenting.
GAL FRIDAY - yes, I avoid coconuts because I don't know how to open them but a few days ago, go figure, I couldn't resist.
JOYFUL - not sure about the hammer. Anyone has a machete?
I'll let you know how it turns out.
My Dad always uses a mallet on a large knife for a coconut. He looks terrified each time... and has caught his thumb more than once.
Tu es arrivee apres mon long sejour au Senegal..La-bas on en ouvrait tous les jours avec une machette, que nous appelions aussi coupe-coupe. Une hachette ou un marteau devraient faire l'affaire. Dad
And then there is the texture of our lives – sometimes smooth, sometimes a little rough and bumpy…
Love those pants.
Good luck with your coconut! I never buy them for that very reason. LOVE the midnight color of your new jeans-worn with a stunning white shirt I bet...
JL - ah oui mais tu vois, je n'ai pas de machette a ma disposition.
BETH - what you say is so true, it hadn't occurred to me.
DEBRA - ha ha ha, you know me well!
Love those corduroys!
oh you absolutely post a smile on my face with this post...great cords!
oh...and mary-laure...do you want to share with me 7 things that you love...?? (to choose 7 blogger feels so unfair because i follow and like more than blogs) ley me know, ok? :))
A pair of corduroy strides! How long it has been since I wore a pair. Next winter I will remedy this and purchase a pair.
IF JANE - of course I'd like to share 7 things that I love!
GRACIA - ah, but they never go out of style, do they? Get yourself a pair!
I love your new pants, I've been looking for a similar pair for myself.
great comparisons. i have been eyeing those cords but i fear they may be too lowrise. are they? i love coconuts but also have no idea how to get to that wonderful coconut juice or meat!
SEALAURA - yes, they are pretty low rise, which I don't like very much - I hate it when my belly is cold! But they're not too low rise. And they're on sale right now...
Love your new J-crew corduroys! My favourite cold weather material! Good luck with that coconut! Maybe take it to a greengrocer to open it for you?
What a fun blog! FOr the (next) coconut: make two holes (where those darker spots are) drain the liquid out, then just pop it in the oven, in a few minutes it'll crack and the flesh will come off easily - trick learned from coconut vendor on Italian beaches:)
