Doors To Burgundy

On our way back from Italy, we stopped in Burgundy and visited the magical village of Châteauneuf. Both the medieval castle, complete with moats and towers, and the 16th century church are beautifully preserved. I took tons of pictures but thought I'd share the ones featuring doors... This post is dedicated, with love, to my sister Céline, who kind of collects door postcards and images.

Ah! Doors! Indeed my mistress is very fond of doors, especially detailed ones with adornments . She doesn't like doors when they are slammed or when she hits her toes in them. Personally I prefer my doors to be opened as, as you may know, my vision is not what it used to be. In the morning, when I hear the footsteps of my nanny Dinushi, i rush to greet her at the main door and await her gentle touch which will guide me through the gates for my morning walk...

Dear Taocito - I am happy that you enjoyed these pictures! I'm sure you'd love Burgundy, with its fine cheeses and meats. I miss you!

Dear Oracle,
I have a question that has been bugging me highly as you can imagine. As you know... since you know everything, I am currently living with a foster cat. Well here is my issue, dear Oracle: it's not as much that the cat thinks my fluffy tail is worth pawing, but well she competes with me in playing fetch! Whenever my owner throws my favorite soft ball she outruns me to get it!
O Oracle do you have a solution?

I am not an Oracle but I have an answer: get rid of the intruder!!!

This is such a delightful post! Can't help but wonder what's on the other side of those lovely doors.

Mother mouf you are so wise!!!!!
Actually I have been trying, i have left the door opened, put ads up for adoption but nothing. At least she is friendly with me now. And in any case I remain my owner's favorite.

Oh what lovely doors! So elegant. I never would have imagined they were so pretty in that part of the world. I like doors, I enjoy scratching my paws against woods of all kinds. Burgundy would have been a real treat for me I must say.

Oh and mother Mouf, stop discriminating!

Taocito--but I thought you were the open, unprejudiced sort. Oh no. What will GG do when I tell her? She thinks that you & Benjy are so totally cool. She seriously likes dogs. I do not know how to break this to her. As she is asleep, I shall say nothing at present.

Sniff.

GG's human

Giulia I am very unprejudiced that's why I welcomed Petimoo on my turf. I just don't want her stealing my toys and pawing my tail, that's all. I let her drink from my water bowl and we play together, if that's not tolerance... I even let her rub her little cat head against me! Mother Mouf is the discriminating one.
Mary-Laure... you know what I'd looooove to do to those doors?

MOTHERMOUF - oh but I am shocked...... that you should suggest they simply GET RID of Petimoo.... that sounds very radical to me!

PETIMOO - I met many cats in Burgundy and I am sure they would have become your friends; like Sheherazade, you could have wooed them with Oriental tales...

TAOCITO - what would you love to do to those doors? Should I fear the worst? Is there any pee pee involved?

TAOCITO - stay tuned, and the Oracle will speak to your problem. Fret not, I have a plan.

Beautiful doors and I love the idea of collecting door photos and postcards. Old doors are always a little magically... to imagine who and what has passed through them over the years...

Wow - those doors are incredible!

Somehow makes the wine, cheese and meat even more desirable.
