Benjy Loves Basketball

While I was in Los Angeles, Benjy stayed with a dear friend in Paris. Once in a while, she would snap pictures of my little beast to let me know he was doing great, and that his beloved basket ball was never far away from him...
The blogger and super talented photographer Mansuetude recently asked if Benjy kept a dream diary. He might, and if he does, it probably reads: Take me to the ball game! Under the covers in bed, his ball conveniently at paw, maybe he dreams of joining the Los Angeles Lakers. He may be tiny, but he can jump.

I'm sure the Lakers would adopt you as their mascot!

I think, this is the best way, how to play basketball!

These images make me smile. What a spirited little creature he is!!

Oh, yes! The Lakers would love a smaller faster (very handsome & literate)point guard with the graces and knowledge of ballet to sneak past the lumbering Celtics next season.

An Oracle of course knows a true dream journal is written within the heart--and read by hints. Only people with eyes to see would know Benjy would love (need) a basketball to exercize his passions. What a lucky guy.

And his owner is far too kind to me. Thank you. Perhaps we can hear a bit about the writer she has written about, in a future post.

oh.my.god. You should make a poster of that second photo and sell it. That has to be one of the cutest photos I've ever seen.

Benjy! You're even better than the Lakers!

JENNIFER - oh thank YOU for those pictures and for looking after the bad beast...

MANSUETUDE - I used to live in Boston, so I guess I like the Celtics, too, but Benjy wants to be a California dog!
I'm glad you like the post about mustard going up to the nose, I had sooooooo much fun writing it!

PIERRE = and a great dancer too.

ANONYMOUS - who are you, Benjy fan?

TANGO BABY - anyone who likes the pictures is welcome to print them in billboard size or smaller. Benjy's a not for profit pooch.

WORLD IN A PAN - you didn't miss anything I think. The post that's linked to ("he can jump") is about Benjy jumping but also about mustard, because a reader asked about French mustards.

PIA - well you can see Benjy next time you visit Paris!

If Benjy dreams about California, he's definitely a stylish parisian dog and plays well with the camera.

Te hable de un libro, dos señoras conversan, una de ellas queria ser en su proxima vida un perro fino en Paris, jaja, mejor perro fino en Paris que pobre en Lima.
Benjy parece un perro muy felizzzzzz!!!!!!

ooh. i meant he would be a great asset to the Lakers--who always play the Celtics (that rivalry is really the best part). Nobody should mess with an Oracle's dreams. Bad, bad Karma.

This is INDECENT! Why is he "offering" himself in such a manner! Showing off his belly like he's a springbreaker in Cancun!

I am simply shocked.

awww he's adorable! and te photographs are really natural and beautiful!

Go Benjy! (Great photos!)
Also, We have a question for you...We are coming to Paris for about a month this October. We are planning to stay near Parc Monceau in the 8th. Are dogs allowed in that park? Carmelita (doggy) & Samantha x

KARINA - si, tengo mucha suerte de vivir en Paris y de tener a Mary-Laure por supuesto...
Como se llama este libro?

MANSUETUDE - well Mary-Laure used to live in Boston, so she's all for their teams, but I feel like a California dog so I'll join the Lakers!

TAOCITO - rrrrraaaaaahhhh, I like being indecent, you know... And I am much more sophisticated than those Cancun springbreakers; the belly I expose to the sun is beer-free, paunch-free and very classy.

EVEYBODY SAYS DONT - as far as I know, dogs are not allowed in Parisian public parks, which includes the Park Monceau though they are sometimes allowed in some alleys.
The best green spots for dogs who want to bounce around legally are the Bois de Vincennes and the Bois de Boulogne, not the local parks.
Sad, huh?
