I blogged sluggishly last week, swamped as I was with work. But this week is going to rock! Let's kick it off with a snapshot a 2004 etching by Damien Hirst, which I saw this morning in the lobby of the British Council. It's called Tetrahydrocannabinol - maybe we should find another title for this work!
How do you like it?

i think it (ironically) is good medicine for a sluggish mind. (oops) i like it but it makes me want to play that game where people twist into each other's private knooks and cranies. :).
Love the picture (I like dots) and just adore your blog! :)
Oooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh I love this!
What a complicated name!
Love the picture but can not pronounce the name!
i do like dots..
but i must admt some of his work make me feel sick :( its probably supposed to i guess..
I will try to think of a better name (right now all I can come up with is Vertical Twister), but I did pop over to tell you that I gave you a little award today. You can see what it is on my blog. ;-)
i do like this piece of work, i think i would have entitled it... "spotty", but then i am an intellectual : )
It made me smile!
I love it. It makes me think of the candy dots we used to have that were stuck on the paper called candy buttons.
Love it! More cheerful than DH's usual work . . .
"I see dots" would be a pretty mundane but accurate title for this piece :) At least people could pronounce it!
Fond memories of a trip to the Guggenheim and my young son carefully up close examining a work of none other that Damien Hirst. Millions of "flies" covering an enormous canvas. He was all a buzz for days about it.
I know how you feel, I had a sluggish weekend (we had a holiday). I prefer his darker works!
Tetrahydrocannabinol,
also known as,
delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol,
delta-1-tetrahydrocannabinol,(using an older numbering scheme), or dronabinol,
is the main
psychoactive substance
found in the Cannabis plant.
Es una obra fantástica!!
Jelly beans!
MANSUETUDE - yes, it is a great get-up for a sluggish mind! An a happy one too.
MARIE - I agree with you. As an animal lover, I just HATE Hirst's treatment of sliced cows and such works.
KWANA - you know it is very candy like! It made me think og Skittles!
TRAVELER'S SOUL - thanks for the info!!!!
I like this dotted wall but I am not a fan of Hirst's shocking bits of Art! Dots are still in fashion though.
MEANING: each dot reproduces the color of famous pharmaceutical corporation
Colorful dots! Who wouldn't like it hehe..
