Beautiful flowers. I didn't know they had mistletoe in France.

Beautiful!!! Just yesterday a friend/co-worker tried to lure me under some left over mistletoe and I had to argue that it only counted during the month of December :)

The tradition in France is that you embrace under a mistletoe branch on December 31, that's why it is sold in flower shops ..

Beautiful...I love flowers. Would you believe I've never seen "real" mistletoe? I don't know anyone anymore who hangs the artificial mistletoe over the holiday. When I was a child most people did this and the custom seems to have become obsolete here.

Lovely-a nice reminder to get flowers at the market this weekend.
We need a little mood lifter after the holidays. Things seem a little bare around here.

What an incredible blossom. I am not at all familiar with this plant, but it sounds like one I would like to get to know better.

DONNA - of course we have mistletoe in France! And the same kissing-under-the mistletoe tradition, too.

GABBI - hmmmmm, a male friend/co-worker I am guessing?....

FLOWERS - well it's just your basic mistletoe.

ANGIE - yes it's a lovely tradition; I wonder where it comes from...

These are such beautiful pictures. Did you take them yourself?

Mary-Laure said...

SHERIN - yes, I did....

Oh I love that mistletoe...it looks better than whatever I dredge up in New York...gorgeous post.

LAURA - well it's the first time I found such superb mistletoe, I have to admit. Everything's just amazing at my favorite florists', the Jardin D'Auteuil on the rue d'Auteuil in Paris.

I don't think I've ever seen misteltoe in real life. It's so delicate.

How odd...I never realized it, but for all the mistletoe I have seen growing in trees, I have never seen it in bloom, and never even thought about what their flowers would be like! Surprisingly beautiful!
