Weekend flowers

As winter drags on, I really love having flowers around my apartment. I already had a bunch of irises on my kitchen table, and yesterday my mum and I planted some primroses (primula veris) on my kitchen sill.
On weekends from now on, I'll be posting pictures of flower-adorned balconies and windows from around Paris...

These pictures are so beautiful! I love primroses but unfortunately I always manage to kill them. It would be great to have a whole windowsill full of them.

I like primroses, your photos make them look even nicer. Thank for your lovely comments!I will come back to see the balcony flowers. I love passing here for a touch of France I happen to miss sometimes!

I buy flowers every time I go to the grocery. It's too easy to pick up tulips or lilies for a little vase. They are $4 a bunch and are just one of those things that say so much about a home.

I even buy the much-maligned carnations. They are cheap and a low dome of all one color carnations in a glass cube vase is really lovely. And besides.. they are flowers! It's a shame that they have gotten a bad rap.

Eclectic entertaining, why do carnations have a bad rap? I wasn't aware of that - it's a pity, they have such bold hues!

Ekub, this is my first attempt at keeping flowers otherwise than in a vase, and I hope I will not kill them... I'll keep you posted!

Artycho,I am genuinely delighted that my little posts bring you a taste of home. I just love your beautiful blog and am an admirer of your work!

Apologies for leaving a post unrelated to the weekend flowers, but I have a question for the oracle.
Dear Oracle,
Oftentimes, as I am walking down the street, safely on a leash, I come across other pets which are roaming freely about. My mistress is often scared as she remembers the day where I was brutally attacked by a black lab on the street. Hence every time she sees a big dog walking without a leash she gets very scared, especially if it spots me and starts running towards me.
My question, dear Oracle, is, why are so many people irresponsible when walking their pets?
